Glastonbury 2005 reviews (more please !)

Terry's gig on the Avalon Stage really nailed me. I've been around a fair few years now and seen a lot of stuff along the way, but oh my - Terry blew me away there and then. It was the first time i'd seen him live (I was
gutted to have missed the Jazzworld stage gig as I was still dealing with the flood water in the campsite) and I was very excited to see this man.
His soaring vocals were the first shock - man he can still really wail! But the thing that got me more than his pipes or guitar playing was this delightful exchange he had during one number with a guy in the audience.
This guy had his young daughter sat on his shoulders. Terry spotted her sat there (she can only have been 3-4 yrs old and looked absolutely angelic) and commented, in the middle of the song, how beautiful she looked and how great the scene was. This guy was standing just a few feet from me and I turned to see what Terry was looking at. The scene was truly beautiful, the father smiling happily and the daughter evidently enjoying the gig, and the magnificence of the moment, coupled with the fact that I had finally managed to set eyes on the great Terry Reid, caused a lump to begin swelling in my throat. I looked back to the stage and was stunned to see that this scene had seemingly done the same to Terry - he looked enchanted and commented over the mic how beautiful it was to see. I believe he also had to swallow a lump to continue. There were tears in my eyes and I think there were tears in Terrys too. It was a perfect moment.

Hello all - sorry, feel a bit of a late comer to the party here but I didn't know this site existed until now! Still, thought I'd share my story if you're interested... Glastonbury for me this year was a bit of a mixed bag. The weather on Thursday was blistering hot, but the rain on Friday made everything a complete wash out. Trudging from stage to stage in nearly knee deep mud does tend to sap your enthusiasm after a while. Anyway, being a massive fan of "River" I decided to check Terry out in the Avalon Tent on Friday. Considering some of the bands I'd seen earlier in the day, let's say I wasn't being blown away by much that day. Typical though really, in a half full tent feeling rather miserable (none of my gang wanted to see him, so I went on my own) and mopey I saw one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Terry should have been on the Main Stage - end of story. The band were fantastic and Terry was just amazing. I've never heard/seen him live before, but I had a big stupid grin on my face for the entire time. By the end of the set I'd had my Glastonbury highlight, and nothing during the rest of the weekend even came close. Awesome.

I am a very new fan as I have just witnessed this amazing bloke at Glasto! I walked into this tent and was blown away. I am 52 years old but know I am not his oldest fan. I am a sixties girl and have watched lots of bands and artists and cant believe I have never heard of him before. My youngest son and band won the 'Glasto unsigned' this year (The Deadbeats) and performed 4 times this weekend and subsequently didnt see him but I know both my sons will be blown away by him. I am now searching for any albums?
